GAZA / DOHA: The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has called for amendments to the 20-point Gaza peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump, particularly objecting to the clause that requires the group to disarm.
According to a Palestinian source close to Hamas leadership, the group has formally demanded changes to the disarmament provision of the draft plan, which it views as unacceptable in its current form.
Foreign media reported that Hamas negotiators held talks in Doha with officials from Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar to discuss the proposed plan and potential revisions.
The move signals Hamas’s growing concerns over key elements of the US-backed proposal, which the group argues must reflect Palestinian resistance priorities and rights.
According to Palestinian sources, Hamas wants to amend some clauses, Hamas seeks international guarantees of Israel's complete withdrawal and leaders not being killed inside or outside Palestine.
Sources say Hamas needs a maximum of two or three days to respond.
It should be remembered that US President Donald Trump had offered a 20 -point peace plan for Gaza and at the same time threatened Hamas that if he did not recognize the peace plan, he would have serious consequences.
Under Trump's Gaza Peace Agreement, Hamas fighters will be completely unarmed and will not be given any role in the future government, however, members who agree on 'peaceful coexistence' will be given a general amnesty.
