Since welcoming their daughter Raha in November 2022, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor have fully embraced parenthood. In a recent interview, Alia reflected on how becoming a mother has reshaped her perspective, deepened her understanding of parental love, and brought changes in Ranbir as well.
Speaking on Jay Shetty’s podcast, Alia revealed a special habit she has developed—writing daily emails to Raha. These messages include memories, photos, and videos, creating a digital time capsule for her daughter to look back on in the future. Discussing the complexities of parenting, she admitted, “I know I can’t be a perfect parent. I can only try to be good enough. But I have to be present, understand her emotions, instill values, and at the same time, let her be herself.”
She also acknowledged the challenges and anxieties that come with being a mother. “I constantly juggle different thoughts—whether she’s eating well, sleeping properly, and what the future holds for her,” Alia shared.
Despite having a strong support system, Alia Bhatt admitted that balancing work and motherhood comes with its concerns. “I recognize my privilege and the help I have, but the worry never fades. When I’m away, I often wonder if she’ll pick up something I wouldn’t want her to,” she explained. However, she described parenting as a deeply fulfilling experience. “It’s something I navigate every day, but at the heart of it, it’s pure joy.”
Alia Bhatt also shared an interesting detail about their future plans—she and Ranbir have already picked out a name for a baby boy if they ever have a son.
