Similarly, Comcast CEO Brian L. Roberts allocated $2.5 million of Comcast’s donation to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles’ ReBUILD LA initiative, with the remainder supporting other charities assisting victims.
The Screen Actors Guild has also committed $1 million to assist members who have lost homes or been displaced by the fires, recognizing that many behind-the-scenes industry workers have been affected. Additionally, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS contributed $500,000 in emergency grants to provide meals, shelter, medical care, and financial assistance.
“These wildfires have left deep scars, but they’ve also ignited a powerful wave of support from Broadway to the West Coast,” said Robert E. Wankel, chairman of The Shubert Organization.
Singer Beyoncé’s foundation, BeyGOOD, launched a new LA Fire Relief Fund with a $2.5 million donation.
The fires have destroyed thousands of homes and claimed 24 lives, with many still missing. Relief efforts continue as support pours in.
