Noor Mukadam Murder Case: Court Rejects Bail Plea By Zahir Jaffer’s Parents

A local court in Islamabad has on Thursday declined the bail plea by Zahir Jaffer’s co-accused parents in the high profile Noor Mukadam murder case.

Additional District And Sessions Judge Muhammad Sohail Anjum reserved the verdict on the pleas by prime accused Zahir Jaffer’s parents.

Yesterday, the local court dealing with the murder case reserved its verdict on the plea for bail by Zakir Jaffer and Mrs Asmat Zakir, for their suspected complicity in the horrible murder of Noor Mukadam.

The plea was submitted by defense counsel of Jaffer’s parents who fought the case with arguments outlined from preceding cases and verdicts.

Note that the co-accused parents of prime accused Zahir Jaffer are imprisoned in Adyala Jail.

Noor Mukadam Murdered

The 27-year-old Noor Mukadam was murdered in the federal capital on July 20, in the city’s F-7 area, according to police.

She is the daughter of Shaukat Mukadam, who served as Pakistan’s ambassador to South Korea and Kazakhstan.

The Islamabad police arrested Zahir on the night of July 20th from his house where he killed her with a sharp instrument and beheaded her.

The accused called NOOR at this residence on July 20th and told her to switch her phone off. When her parents couldn’t contact her, they started questioning her friends about her location.

When some of Noor’s friends went to Jaffer’s residence to inquire about the deceased, he denied seeing her. Upon this, Noor’s friends had a fight with Jaffer, sources told the police.

After brutally murdering Noor, the accused tried fleeing to the United States but was arrested on time.

The gruesome incident sparked a nationwide campaign seeking justice for her, with #JusticeforNoor had become a top trend on Twitter.

It should be noted that Jaffer had previously been deported from the United Kingdom on charges of assaulting a female.

According to sources, the clothes of Zahir, the main accused in Noor Mukadam’s case, were changed on the 3rd day of his hearing in the court. He has access to a telephone and eats home-cooked food which is delivered daily to him, the sources claimed.

It should be noted that Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain recently welcomed their baby boy who they named Kabir Hussain.

Yasir Hussain announced the birth of his son through an Instagram post.

Sharing the beautiful photo of his newborn son’s hands-on Instagram the actor wrote, “Alhamdulillah! By the command of Allah, we welcome Kabir Hussain.

Sara Mukadam, the elder sister of Noor Mukadam, who was murdered and beheaded by the accused Zahir Jaffer on July 20th, has penned a heartfelt note for her sister.

Taking to Instagram, Sara Mukadam has demanded justice for her late sister with a heartfelt note. “Noor you will get justice,” she said.

“Noorah! I miss you so much! I don’t know how to live a life without you. I miss you every breathing moment. We had made so many plans for your bday this year. Life is not the same without you. The world is not the same without you Noor. We can never celebrate another birthday, another Eid, or lead normal lives. May Allah bless you with the highest ranks in Jannat ul Firdous and may we all get reunited again as a family in Jannah. Ameen.”

She further assured herself that one day Noor will get justice and the criminal will serve the deserved punishment.

“The world is behind you,” she added more.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed has on Monday said that they cannot have the Noor Mukadam case suspect killed in a police encounter.

Addressing a press conference in Islamabad today, Sheikh Rasheed told that the investigation has been finished, the forensic test conducted and all evidence have been provided to the court. He hoped that the court will hand down a death sentence to Zahir Jaffer, the main accuse in Noor Mukadam murder case

He scornfully said that the “active ladies in Islamabad” and “large social media” have ruled out the possibility of an extrajudicial killing.

Replying to another question about the alleged abduction of the Afghan ambassador’s daughter, the Minister said that Kabul’s probe team will be permitted to interview 11 concerned people. He said, “Afghan envoy’s daughter is our daughter.”

Zahir Jaffer’s Polygraph, Other Test Conducted

Zahir Jaffer underwent polygraph and other tests at Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) Lahore to verify his statements and the evidence gathered in connection with the murder.

Samples taken from the body of the deceased during the post-mortem have also been sent to the agency for testing.

Jaffer Sent To Jail On 14-Day Judicial Remand

In their notice, the Parents of Zahir Jaffer said that they stand by Noor’s family, and are committed to ensure that the law takes its natural course and that justice is served.

Earlier, police had arrested the parents of Zahir Jaffer, the culprit accused of killing and beheading Noor Mukadam, a daughter of a former Pakistani ambassador to South Korea Shaukat Mukadam.

This was revealed by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat in a statement issued in the early hours of Sunday. Parents of Zahir Jaffer were arrested for trying to hide evidence, he said.

Taking to Twitter, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad confirmed the news and wrote: “Sealing orders of Therapy works issued. Parents of Murderer Zahir Jaffar also arrested.”

The post-mortem report of the Noor Mukadam was released on Friday, stating that she was beheaded after being murdered in Islamabad.

As per sources, the accused had planned the crime and had taken some of his friends into confidence regarding the plan a few days before the incident.

Noor Mukadam Murder: Parents claim she left house carrying huge amount of money

ISLAMABAD:  The case of Noor Mukadam, a 27-year-old woman who was brutally killed by Zahir Jaffer has taken a new turn as further details have been unveiled by her parents.

Investigations into the case took a new turn when her parents informed the police that Noor was carrying a large amount of money when she left the house and asked her mother on call to send some more amount. The sources were quoted claiming that an informal statement from her father, said she asked her driver to arrange Rs700,000 but he could arrange Rs300,000.

When her driver informed her that he was at her door, she received the money but refused to come out of the accused’s home, saying that hand over the amount to the cook of the accused and go back home.

Both Noor and her talked for three minutes on call on the day she got killed.  Earlier, two mutual friends of Noor and Zakir visited the alleged killer’s residence and asked the accused to free her but he denied that Noor was staying with him.

Moreover, the insiders disclosed that Zahir also asked one of his friends if he will be arrested for murder as he was a US citizen that indicated that Noor’s murder was premeditated.

Earlier, Noor Mukadam’s father addressed a press conference and thanked the prime minister, Shahbaz Gill, and Mazari for taking a personal interest in the case.

“This is not a case where the suspect escaped. He was caught and caught with a weapon,” Mukadam said.

He said that Jaffer is “not a person with a mental disability”.

“If such a person was employed as the director of a company, then his parents, too, must be made part of the investigation,” Mukadam had demanded.
