Workers turn a Bajaj scooter into an electric pulley: Viral Video

Workers

Need is the mother of invention. This aphorism has been proven time and again, with individuals developing new technologies to make life easier. Every now and then, we come across folks who have created something unique and valuable out of very basic necessities. A video of construction workers utilising an old Bajaj scooter as an electric pulley is gaining popularity on social media.

Pankaj Parekh, a Twitter user, tweeted the footage on Saturday. “Even Bajaj could never have imagined, how this scooter could be used other than driving on the roads,” stated the post’s caption.

Watch the video

A man is seen sitting on an ancient scooter with no wheels in the brief video. A big white bag is seen being hauled up to the top of the third level of an under-construction building while he spins the accelerator of the unmoving scooter.

Overall, the film captured the close-up of the improvised machinery wonderfully. It showed how the workmen used metal rods to connect a rope pulley to a turning wheel in order to hoist the heavy bag to the third floor of the building.

This invention simply wowed internet users, who poured their admiration into the comment section. One user claimed that the film was shot in “Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh,” while others praised the “jugaad.”

“Scooter as Crane, hats off to Indian ingenuity,” one user wrote. “Indians have an engineering mindset by birth,” said another.

A third person said, “Old idea, around in India for ages. But good to see that they are getting recognised.” “Indians have an engineering mindset by birth,” said a fourth.

The video has had approximately 25,000 views and hundreds of likes since it was shared.
