Ehsaas Program

Aiming to minimize dropout rates, the Ehsaas Program has decided to start a nationwide drive for school enrollment soon in collaboration with the provinces and key development stakeholders.

According to the details, the plan was discussed during a maiden meeting of the Ehsaas steering committee for Waseela-e-Taleem Digital.

Dr, Sania Nishtar, who is the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation chaired the meeting.

“The programme targets will be aligned with results of Ehsaas National Socio-economic Registry survey that is currently 61% complete in the field and is expected to be conclude before June 2021 nationwide”, said SAPM Dr Sania.

Earlier, the Ehsaas program had benefitted around half of Pakistan’s population amid the coronavirus crisis last year.

An annual report was compiled by Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection Division according to which the Ehsaas program continues to empower the weakest segments of society through its multi-faceted initiatives.

The report also mentioned that many transformative initiatives and policy reforms had effectively been implemented nationwide since the launch of Ehsaas as an umbrella program in 2019 by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
