Pakistani vocalist Arooj Aftab nominated for Grammy award

Arooj Aftab is a Pakistani vocalist, music composer, and producer who works mainly in the minimalist, jazz, and neo-Sufi idioms, has been nominated for the 64th Grammy Awards.

With 11 nominations, Jon Batiste leads all nominees. The Recording Academy released the nominees for each of the 86 categories, with Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, and H.E.R. each receiving eight; Billie Eilish, and Olivia Rodrigo each receiving seven.

The Recording Academy’s voting membership body of about 12,000 music makers, who represent all genres and creative disciplines, including recording artists, composers, producers, mixers, and engineers, decide on the Grammy Awards.

Arooj Aftab, who has wowed audiences around the world with her intriguing songs and diverse vocal styles, has been nominated for the 2022 GRAMMY Awards. On Monday, January 31, there will be an awards ceremony.
