Cold weather prevails in Karachi

  • PMD has predicted a fall in temperature in Karachi in the coming days.

KARACHI: Cold weather prevailed in Karachi and its adjoining areas as the mercury dropped to 11 degrees Celsius in the metropolis city last night.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a fall in temperature in Karachi in the coming days under the influence of the westerly winds which entered the city on January 09.

Northeastern winds are presently blowing in the city at 14 kilometers of speed, according to the weather report. The maximum temperature is expected to reach 24-26 degrees Celsius today.

On the other hand, cold and cloudy weather is expected in most parts of the country during the next twelve hours.
However, light rain with snow is likely in north Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pothohar region, and Kashmir.

Dense fog is likely to prevail in the upper Sindh and plain areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Temperatures of some major cities recorded in Islamabad, Quetta, and Muzaffarabad were seven degree centigrade, Lahore and Peshawar eight, Karachi 16, Gilgit minus two, and Murree zero degree centigrade.

KARACHI: Pakistan Meteorological Department(PMD) has predicted cold and dry weather in most parts of the country.

According to the PMD, weather to remain very cold in upper parts and north Balochistan during the next twelve hours.  Dense fog is likely to occur in plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and upper Sindh.

Frost is expected in Pothohar region during morning hours.

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rain/snow over the mountains is expected in northern and western Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan.

Dense foggy conditions are likely to continue over plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP), and upper Sindh.

Temperatures of some major cities including Islamabad and Peshawar three degree centigrade, Lahore seven, Karachi 14, Quetta five, Gilgit four, Murree one, and Muzaffarabad two degree centigrade.

KARACHI: Pakistan Meteorological Department(PMD) on Sunday predicted that the weather will remain cold and dry in most parts of the country.

The weather will remain cold and dry in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galyat, and most of the districts of the country and the northern areas.

While fog is likely to fall in some plain areas of Punjab, including Upper Sindh, Potohar region, Dera Ismail Khan, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Jhelum, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Okara, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur Bahawalnagar, Multan, Sukkur, Larkana, and Mohen-jo-Daro.

However, northern Balochistan of the country will be very cold, while the weather will remain partly cloudy in Kashmir and Gilgit, including the upper districts.
