In anticipation of even higher temperatures this week, the Met Office issued an amber weather warning for excessive heat on Monday throughout parts of the UK.

According to the unusual warning, the extreme heat may pose a threat to life or result in serious disease.

Road closures, train and air travel disruptions, and delays are possible additional problems.

The warning is in effect from Sunday at 12.01am to Sunday at 11.59pm, when temperatures are expected to rise into the 30s, according to the Met Office.

The East Midlands, East of England, London, South East, North East, North West, South West, Wales, West Midlands, and Yorkshire and Humber are all subject to its enforcement.

Following a string of grass fires, fire departments have recommended people to go on picnics rather than barbecues during the good weather.

In the meantime, the AA Driving School and RAC advised drivers to have water on them, start their trips earlier in the day, plan their routes, and inspect their vehicles before leaving.

Additionally, Hampshire County Council announced that it was getting ready to use gritters to shield vehicles from melting roadways.

The Met Office predicts that on Tuesday, temperatures will soar to the late 20s across the majority of England, but will reach 30C in London, Chelmsford, and Sudbury in Suffolk.
