Famed Turkish actresses including Hande Erçel and Hazal Kaya have called the brotherly countries for immediate assistance as the death toll from wildfires in southern Turkey rose to eight, officials said, as more people including tourists were evacuated to safety.
The Turkish actresses took to their separate Instagram handles and requested the United Nations and the concerned countries to help their country as the wildfires continue to rage.
“I am calling all the countries who can help us. We are perished and devastated by a total of 112 fires. The ones that we can’t stop are still going so strong. We don’t have enough fire fighting planes to stop it. We lost 8 people, so many animals and our forests. Please help us!!!!! We need planes urgently. We only have 1 world,” the statement alongside the post read.

Countries Pledge Solidarity With Turkey Over Deadly Fires
Yemen, Palestine and Egypt expressed solidarity with Turkey as they conveyed their condolences to the country over the widespread forest fires that have devasted several locations, caused serious material damage and killed seven people.
Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmad Awad bin Mubarak sent a message to his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, relaying his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the fires.
A delegation of Palestinian scholars also issued a message of condolence.
“We are deeply saddened by the wildfires that have erupted in many parts of fraternal country Turkey,” it said.
“We extend our condolences to those who lost their lives and to their families. We heartily share the pain of the fraternal Turkish people.”
Turkey Wildfires: Death Toll Rises To Eight
In the city of Bodrum, three five-star hotels were reportedly evacuated. The wildfire in Turkey, which has been burning since Wednesday, has left eight people dead.
Two more fatalities were confirmed on Saturday. They were among the thousands of people who have been battling almost 100 separate blazes in resorts and villages on Turkey’s Mediterranean and Aegean coasts – a major tourist region.
Officials say all but 10 of the fires have now been brought under control.
As flames continue, social media is flooded with heartbreaking videos capturing the disaster.
With hashtag #PrayforTurkey and #TurkeyisBurning, netizens in and outside the country have been trying to draw attention to the severity of the situation.
