Pakistan Railways plans to restore two passenger trains

The Pakistan Railways has revealed its intentions to reinstate two additional passenger trains. The Bolan Mail and Akbar Bugti Express, connecting Quetta with Karachi and Lahore are slated for restoration, as confirmed by Divisional Superintendent Quetta, Muhammad Yousuf Leghari, on Thursday.

Following the directives of the caretaker government and PR authorities, preparations are in place to reintroduce these two trains. The Bolan Mail is scheduled to recommence operations on December 25, 2023, while the restoration of Akbar Bugti Express is planned for March 2024.

These trains aim to facilitate travel between Sindh and Punjab to Balochistan and vice versa. The DS Railway highlighted that Bolan Mail will consist of 12 coaches, including a dining car and bedding facilities.

Caretaker Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Domki and Caretaker Minister for Railways, Communications, and Maritime Affairs Shahid Ashraf Tarar inaugurated the train service at a ceremony held at the Sibi Railway Station.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has decided to upgrade and commercialize the Rawalpindi Railway Station on modern lines to make it economic hub and generate more revenue for the department.

It was decided in a meeting, chaired by Minister for Railways, Communication and Maritime, Shahid Ashraf Tarar .

During the meeting, it was reviewed for up-gradation and commercialization plan of Rawalpindi Railway Station. The minister said that railway stations would remain important commercial hubs in the future, earning substantial revenue and generating economic opportunities at large scale.
