Cold wave spell likely to continue in Karachi till Jan 29

KARACHI: Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) predicted that the cold wave is likely to continue across Sindh including Karachi till January 29.

PMD Karachi Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz said the lowest temperature in Karachi was recorded at 7 degrees Celsius. The northeastern winds blowing in the city with a wind speed of 14 kilometers per hour, he added.

He said that cold and dry weather is likely to prevail in the city for the next couple of days, while another cold wave is expected in the city in the first week of February.

He further said that another westerly wave is likely to enter Balochistan on Jan 28 which will bring rain/snowfall in parts of Balochistan.

On the other hand, cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very cold in upper parts and north Balochistan during the next twelve hours.

Rain with snow may occur at isolated places in Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

Fog is likely to occur in a few plain areas of Punjab.
