PSL 6: Multan Sultans teases fans with its rip-roaring official anthem

Ahead of the third playoff between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United at the National Stadium, Karachi, team Multan Sultans has teased its fans with the official anthem today.

Taking to Twitter, Multan Sultans shared a teaser of its anthem to get fans in the mood.

On the other hand, Islamabad United has won the toss and decided to field against MS in the third match of the sixth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Furthermore, the match commenced at 7:00 pm. It is the second match played today after Lahore Qalandars won against Peshawar Zalmi by 4 wickets.

PSL 6: Mohammad Rizwan to lead as Multan Sultans’ captain

Ahead of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6, Multan Sultans has appointed batsman Mohammad Rizwan as the team captain.

Mohammad Rizwan will replace Shan Masood, who led Sultans in PSL 5. The 28-year-old is currently Pakistan’s first choice as wicket-keeper batter and is also the vice-captain of the National Test team.

Multan Sultans has announced Rizwan’s captaincy in a tweet today.

Ali Tareen, the team owner in a press release said, “Mohammad Rizwan has shown exemplary leadership qualities with the Pakistan team as well as with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the Domestic tournaments.”

“He is presently one of the very best in the world in his position and we are excited to have him lead our team for the upcoming season of the PSL.

We are grateful to Shan Masood for leading the franchise exceptionally well last season and for instilling a winning mentality within the team,” he added.

On the other hand, Mohammad Rizwan is confident of leading the side. “I look forward to leading the Multan Sultans team for the upcoming season. I have understood the innovative approach the franchise applied last season and am looking forward to playing my part this year.”

“Multan Sultans had a successful PSL 5 and we will aspire to go even better this time around especially with senior Pakistani players like Shahid Khan Afridi, Shan Masood and Sohail Tanveer to look up to,” he added.

Multan Sultans will play their opening fixture against Islamabad United at National Stadium, Karachi on 21st February.
