PSL 2021 Final: Sultans Will Try Their Utmost To Vanquish Zalmis For The Trophy Tonight

The thrilling finale show for all the cricket fans is just around the corner as Multan Sultans, for the very first time, are qualified for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 final and will clash against Peshawar Zalmi tonight.

Multan Sultans’ skipper Mohammad Rizwan will try his utmost to defeat the experienced Peshawar Zalmi tonight at 9 pm as the two teams lock horns for the PSL 2021 trophy.

Both sides did well in the playoffs to make it to the decider.

Sultans defeated Islamabad United in the Qualifier by 31 runs to reach their first PSL final. Zalmi, the 2017 tournament champions, defeated Karachi Kings by 5 wickets and overwhelmed two-time champions Islamabad United by 8 wickets in the eliminators to set the final date with Sultans.

Mohammad Rizwan has said the Sultans will go all out for the trophy.

“We are fully prepared. We will put in our best effort and will pray to God Almighty for the desired result,” Rizwan told a news conference on Wednesday.

The skipper said his team had prepared plans for the opposition.

“We will go with a different plan against every player. If we get an early wicket of Zazai, Zalmi has Shoaib Malik and they have depth in their batting. I cannot disclose the details but we have planned for the whole opposition,” Rizwan said.

The most thrilling yet loved cricket tournament, Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 has reached its end as two-times winning champions Islamabad United will face Peshawar Zalmi to play for the second Eliminator tonight (June 22).

Islamabad United had to taste the defeat from Multan Sultans in the Qualifier round of PSL 2021 while Peshawar Zalmi knocked out Karachi Kings in a closely fought eliminator.

United have a second chance to qualify for the final as they topped the points table but Zalmi is coming into this match with a win on their back.

Last night, Zalmi defeated the defending champions of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings by five wickets in the first Eliminator of the sixth season at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium last night.

Zalmi secured their position to play for the second Eliminator today (Tuesday) against the loser of Qualifier Islamabad United, knocking Karachi Kings out of PSL 2021.

For Peshawar Zalmi, openers Hazratullah Zazai and Kamran Akmal had taken them to 49 before Noor Ahmed drew first blood.

Babar Azam played a composed inning of 53 runs off 45 balls with the help of six boundaries. He played at a strike rate of 117.77 to score his seventh fifty in this tournament.

PSL 2021: Kings out of title race after losing last over thriller to Zalmi

Peshawar Zalmi has defeated the defending champions of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi Kings by five wickets in the first Eliminator of the sixth season at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium last night.

Zalmi secured their position to play for the second Eliminator today (Tuesday) against the loser of Qualifier Islamabad United, knocking Karachi Kings out of PSL 2021.

The winner of the match will qualify for the final, where they will face off against Multan Sultans.

Set to chase 176, Zalmi started aggressively as Zazai smacked from ball one. He hit a four to Imad to start the beginning.

However, Amir took the price wicket of well-set Malik in the following over, however, West Indies’ Sherfane Rutherford (17*) guided Zalmi to win by five wickets.

Babar Azam becomes the first player to score 500 runs in a single Pakistan Super League (PSL) season.

Captain Babar Azam made history by becoming the first player to score 500 runs in a single edition of PSL. In the innings against Quetta Gladiators, he smashed 23 runs off 25 balls to take his tournament runs tally to 501.

The all-rounder has smashed as many as 6 fifties in 10 matches and scored runs at an average of 71.57.

He had also held the previous record of most runs in a single edition of PSL which he claimed while scoring 473 runs, batting 11 innings in the previous edition.

PSL 2021: Karachi Kings Outplayed Arch-Rivals Lahore Qalandars By 7 Runs

PSL 2021 Kings beat Qalandars by 7 runs

In the 27th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021 on Thursday night, Imad Wasim-led Karachi Kings outplayed arch-rivals Lahore Qalandars by seven runs to stay in the running for the playoffs.

Noor Ahmed bowled a brilliant spell and helped Karachi Kings beat Lahore Qalandars to 169/7 and win the 27th PSL 2021 contest by seven runs.

Noor and Mohammad Ilyas bagged two wickets each to earn a much-needed victory for the Kings.

Earlier, Babar Azam and Martin Guptill gained 88 runs together as the Kings posted 176/5 against Qalandars in 20 overs.

Thereafter, Babar and Guptill joined hands and rescued Kings to 109-1 in 12.5 overs. Babar scored 54 off 44 balls with the help of seven boundaries whilst Guptill made 43 laced with two boundaries and three sixes.

In the end, Imad Wasim played a cameo to finish off things well for Kings. He scored 30 runs off 19 balls spread over three boundaries and a six.

For Qalandars, Rashid Khan bagged two wickets while Shaheen, Ahmed Daniyal and Mohammad Hafeez shared a wicket apiece.

Kings won the toss and decided to bat first against Qalandars in the 27th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 6.
