PSL 6

Special flights from Pakistan on Thursday have departed for Abu Dhabi with the players to play the remaining PSL 6 matches.

Chartered planes from Karachi and Lahore have left for Abu Dhabi carrying more than 150 players and officials.

Earlier, a 233-member contingent from Pakistan, including players, team support staff, coaches, broadcast staff, and match officials, was scheduled to board two different chartered flights from Lahore and Karachi to Abu Dhabi on Wednesday morning for the remaining PSL 6 matches. The flight was however postponed.

On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has said that 25 people have not yet received UAE visas to play the remaining matches of PSL 6.

According to PCB, 25 people, including Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfraz Ahmed, fast bowlers Mohammad Hasnain and Imran Khan, while PCB media department official Emad Hameed has also not got the visa.

However, PCB now confirmed that the issue of 25 people who did not get visas is being resolved. All the people will remain in the bio-secure bubble for the time being.

After the issuance of visas, all the people will be flown to Abu Dhabi by a separate chartered flight.

PSL 6: Franchise Owners Suggest postponing the tournament: Sources

PSL 6 may postpone

Amidst operational issues, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) held an emergency meeting of franchise owners to examine the situation in the staging of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 6.

According to sources, the issues related to travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the remaining PSL 6 matches, might result in the postponement of the tournament.

During the meeting, the PCB officials sought two more hours to decide about an alternate venue while the franchise owners suggested postponing the tournament.

“Holding the remaining 20 PSL matches were proving difficult under the current circumstances and the tournament may not be held in Abu Dhabi,” sourced added.

They said the PCB had got all the required approvals from the UAE authorities including that of chartered flights.

“Sharjah can be an option and will come under discussion during the meeting,” they said.

Departure Delayed Again

The departure of chartered flights to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been delayed due to some technical reasons.

This is the third time the players and officials’ departure for the UAE has been postponed.

The flight was previously scheduled to leave for the UAE at 8:00 am on Wednesday, which was later rescheduled to Thursday, 3 pm.

The board is planning to begin the PSL remainders from 5th June but a final schedule is expected to be announced today.

Earlier, a 233-member contingent from Pakistan, including players, team support staff, coaches, broadcast staff and match officials, was scheduled to board two different chartered flights from Lahore and Karachi to Abu Dhabi on Wednesday morning for the remaining PSL matches scheduled in Abu Dhabi.
