Nicki Minaj is facing a lawsuit from Brandon Garrett, who claims to be her former day-to-day manager. According to TMZ, Garrett has accused the rapper of physically attacking him backstage during a concert in Detroit in April 2024.
The lawsuit details an alleged confrontation where Minaj reportedly slapped Garrett in the face after discovering he had asked someone else to pick up her prescriptions. Garrett claims the blow knocked off his hat and left him shaken. He also alleges Minaj shouted, “Are you out of your mind having him pick up my prescription? You’ve completely lost it, and if my husband were here, he’d knock your teeth out.”
Garrett further alleges Minaj declared, “You’re finished. You’ve ruined your life, and I’ll make sure you never amount to anything,” before striking him on the wrist, causing documents to scatter.
The ex-manager says he was left traumatized, spending hours locked in a restroom out of fear. After returning to Chicago, he reportedly contacted police, citing concerns for his safety. He also alleges Minaj’s team abandoned him in Detroit, leaving him stranded.
Minaj’s attorney, Judd Burstein, responded, stating, “If the lawsuit is as reported, it is completely false and frivolous. We are confident this matter will be resolved in Mrs. Petty’s favor.”
