Namra Qadir, a Delhi-based YouTuber, was detained by Indian police on suspicion of honey trapping and extorting over Rs80 lakh from a businessman while threatening to implicate him in a rape case.
The Gurugram Police detained and brought before a local court the YouTuber Namra Qadir, who has more than 200,000 Instagram followers and 600,000 YouTube subscribers. Indian media claims that the YouTuber was given to the police for four-day custody.

On November 24, the aggrieved businessman—who owns and operates an advertising agency—filed a complaint against Qadir, alleging that she had threatened to launch a false rape case against him and had demanded money.
He said that they met at a hotel on Sohna Road in Gurugram to ask the YouTuber to spread the word about his business. Qadir is said to have taken Rs2.5 lakh up front but did not use the YouTube channel to promote his business.
After the businessman asked why she wasn’t doing anything, the YouTuber honey set him up in a honey trap and made him pay Rs80 lakh. According to the complaint, the YouTuber invited him to a hotel room and gave him something that made him drunk. He also said that the accused made an offensive video of him and then tried to get him in trouble for it.
The Indian police say that Qadir is married and has a child. Virat Beniwal, her husband, has been on the run, and people are looking for him.
