Tahmoor Akram is the son of renowned Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram, who is now an MMA fighter.
Recently, Akram revealed information about his older kid Tahmoor in an appearance with the Dubai talk show “Cricket Pakistan.” The “Sultan of Swing” clarified that he has never forced any of his children to follow in his footsteps; instead, he has always given them the choice to choose the professions they are interested in.
The 56-year-old responded to a query by stating that his son Tahmoor was residing in America in order to one day realize his dream of being a professional mixed martial artist. “My son has been living in America and there is not much cricket there. If he wants to be a fighter, then he must,” Akram said.

Akram has been married twice; the first marriage ended when his wife tragically passed away. In 1995, he got his first wife, Huma Mufti. After 14 years of marriage, they produced two sons: Tahmoor (born in 1996) and Akbar (born 2000). On October 25, 2009, at Apollo Hospital in Chennai, India, Huma passed away from multiple organ failure.
Later, in 2013, Akram married Australian artist Shaniera Thompson. In December 2014, the couple gave birth to a daughter in Melbourne, whom they named Aiyla.
