In her popular TikTok tell-all, Courtney stated, “We got a letter addressed ‘purchaser,'” adding that the letter originated from someone in Canada.
Let me introduce myself, it says. The letter said, “I grew raised in the house and am the last remaining member of the Madison family that originally owned it. I’d want to… tell you about the hidden rooms and a few things you might not have known when you bought the house.
The unknown is the exact location of Courtney and Matt’s new house. Additionally, neither party has provided any concrete details concerning the Madison family, who owned the land.
But in the video, which has received more than 1.5 million views, the new owners took a tour of their sprawling Victorian-style property and revealed its previously hidden elements. According to a separate video, they recently bought the home from a historical society.
The secret area was located “in the [bathroom], immediately opposite the door in the wall,” where Courtney and Matt next went after reading the message.
The nook turned revealed to be a small crawl hole instead of a room when the couple, with their young daughter in tow, searched for the concealed escape in their bathroom, which Courtney regarded “by far the scariest room” in the house because of its outdated and worn-out look.
Courtney speculated that there may have once been a room up here, but in reality, the area is just a spooky attic.
Leaving aside the somewhat lacklustre discovery, Courtney then pointed out a little, closed door placed immediately across from their toilet. The narrow doorway gave way to a sizable trunk room.
She said, “There’s this vast space.” We’re going to try to utilise this area, but for the time being it’s just a really cool room.
And curious TikTok viewers concurred.

One onlooker applauded, saying, “I love that [the previous owner] mailed you a letter informing you all about the place.” Very cool!
Courtney and Matt also stated in separate blogs that the previous owners left antique furniture and other mementoes in the home, including an old music box that, when turned, plays a spooky rendition of the wedding march.
Courtney exclaimed, “Oh, my God!” in a video clip showcasing the finding. On TikTok, the video had 1.2 million views. “A new gem each day.”
