The 30-year-old actor made the admission during the most recent episode of his wife Meghan Trainor’s podcast, Workin’ On It. “One piece of advise that my therapist gave me that was very helpful was [that] she just said ‘If you want to be on your A-game maybe consider full sobriety,'” the actress stated.
The father of one claims that quitting marijuana use and drinking alcohol have been key steps in his sobriety.
“What the f—-!, I thought. I want to be at my best, of course “He went on. “That genuinely caused me to think, “OK, you know what? I don’t need to keep trying weeds out in order to wait for it to get terrible or to put me in a bad situation, even though it’s not really bad for me right now. Let’s give this entire sobriety thing a shot.”
He went into more detail about how going to therapy has facilitated his sobriety journey in a clip posted on the podcast’s TikTok account.
Sabara said, “I’m learning that being by myself is kind of a trigger for me. “Now that I am alone, I am aware that the small voice in my head will say, ‘Hey buddy, it’s just us now. What are we going to do?’ And that’s huge to know that it’s coming instead of just going to booze and weed.”
