Meesha Shafi’s exemption plea rejected by the court

A Lahore district court seized with a defamation lawsuit brought by musician Ali Zafar against Meesha Shafi and others has refused their appeal for “dispensation of attendance” for Friday, saying her motive for seeking exemptions is unjustifiable.

The court approved accused Fariha Ayub’s petition, ruling that her application was legitimate and granting her exemption.

However, the court rejected the pleas of Syed Faizan Raza, Haseemuz Zaaman, Meera alias Meesha, Maham Javaid, and Ali Gull Pir and issued bailable arrest warrants against them.

It should be noted that the Zalima Coca Cola Pila De singer had filed a lawsuit on a sexual harassment claim against popular singer Ali Zafar. In the second session of Ali Zafar’s counter-defamation lawsuit, the singer told the judge that Zafar touched her in public in 2017.

Pakistan’s singing sensation Meesha Shafi, who has been the face of the #MeToo movement in Pakistan, recently sheds light on harassment and asked victims of groping whether they “felt” the harassment they were subjected to or witnessed it with their own eyes.

Took to Twitter, the Zalima Coca Cola Pila De singer, who has been strongly advocating against sexual harassment, wrote, “This question is for anyone who has ever been groped. Did you feel it happen? Or do you have eyes at the back of your head?

Over her Tweet, several users shared horrifying experiences about when and how they were sexually harassed, with many events occurring in broad daylight in crowded places.

It should be noted that Meesha had filed a lawsuit on a sexual harassment claim against popular singer Ali Zafar. In the second session of Ali Zafar’s counter-defamation lawsuit, the singer told the judge that Zafar touched her in public in 2017.

The singer took to her Instagram to share her latest hair transformation with fans as she uploaded new selfies. “Guys. I chopped off my hair. And the Afghan genes are not holding back,” Meesha Shafi captioned the post.

Summers are just around the corner and the starlet is giving her fans major hair inspo.

Shafi loves experimenting with her looks and this time, she has opted for a bob cut.

However, some of the keyboard warriors are not liking the singer’s new hair look and compared her with actress Alizeh Shah and Nasir Khan Jan.

Alizeh Shah had also dyed her hair a deep burgundy and got a cute fringe haircut. But with the changing seasons, the actress keeps upgrading her hair game and often receives backlash too.

Earlier, acclaimed singing sensation Ali Zafar had won the defamation case and Meesha Shafi was granted a punishment of three-year imprisonment.

The rumours created a hue and cry on social media as both singers began trending on Twitter.

However, the ‘Boom Boom’ singer clarified her stance that she has not been thrown into prison. She urged others not to believe in fake news.

Later, the singer made her ‘haters’ speechless as she shared new photos on her Instagram handle. Sharing a photo, she mentioned the caption, “Here’s a picture of me not going to jail, suckers!”

Taking to Instagram, Meesha has posted a snap revealing her fit body and also told fans that she is a yoga teacher as well.

The caption read, “Almost a yoga teacher. Might teach ‘yoga with a focus on mental health’ to a few people one on one if schedule permits. Interested?”
