LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala Zone arrested four suspects, including a human smuggler involved in the Moroccan boat tragedy.
According to the FIA, the arrested accused have been identified as Ejaz Faisal, Tariq Mehmood, Shahbaz Ahmed and Tanveer Tariq. The suspects were arrested from different areas of Sialkot, Gujranwala and Gujarat.
The accused, Ejaz Faisal, is an proclaimed offender and is an important activist of the gang involved in human trafficking.
According to the spokesperson, the accused tried to send a citizen to Spain via the sea in the name of sending a citizen to Spain from the affected citizen named Mohammad Yaqoob. During a travel boat capsized, the victim died in a boat tragedy.
The FIA said that the name of the accused Tariq Mehmood was among the wanted human smugglers since 2014.
The accused was found involved in collecting millions of rupees in the name of sending citizens abroad. The accused took Rs 240,000 to send a citizen to Saudi Arabia for employment.
The judicial fugitive Tanveer Tariq was wanted since 2022, the accused collected more than Rs 300,000 for the citizen by the Dubai job, while the accused Shahbaz received more than Rs 600,000 to send the citizen to Turkey.
