Watch Video: George Harrison was full of anger over being pushed into background

George Harrison did not get along with The Beatles when they were making their final album, Let It Be, in 1969. He even called Paul McCartney “difficult” and said he was in a “really terrible mood” during the sessions where the band was “vicious” with one another.

The Beatles’ final years as a group were difficult. Arguments, conflicts, and public debate plagued the band’s final record, Let It Be. George Harrison, according to Peter Jackson’s Disney Plus documentary Get Back, felt particularly betrayed by his comrades. He even stood up and said, “I’m going to quit the band now.”

Boyd said Harrison, “They would tolerate each other, but I think George basically didn’t like Paul’s personality. I just think they really didn’t love each other.”

“The Beatles made him unhappy, with the constant arguments. They were vicious to each other. That was really upsetting.”

“Like a little brother, he was pushed into the background,” she said. “He would come home from recording and be full of anger. It was a very bad state that he was in.”
