A fisherman who was hit by a “freak wave” had his thigh bone protruding from his leg.
After being bashed against the rocks and left with ghastly injuries after his fishing excursion nearly ended in disaster, Jeremy Francis believed he would bleed to death or be dragged out to sea.
The 61-year-old screamed in agony and shouted for aid for more than an hour before help arrived, and even then, he had to wait another 90 minutes before being evacuated out of the freezing waters.
The veteran angler had gone angling alone to his favourite beauty location in Worm’s Head, Rhossili, Swansea, when he was hit by a wave.

When he looked down, he saw what he believed was a stick poking out of his leg, but it turned out to be his bone.
Jeremy told, “Another wave came over, then another, then another.”
“The gulley was filling up and draining, trying to take me with it. I thought I was going to die.”
