Imran Khan committed that nobody left hungry across Pakistan: Shibli Faraz

Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed the resolve to eliminate hunger from the country by extending support to the deserving people through Ehsaas Program.

Minsiter for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz stated this during a media briefing in Islamabad.

He further discussed about decisions taken by the federal cabinet, which met today (Tuesday) with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair.

Senator Shibli Faraz said that Imran Khan is committed that nobody across Pakistan should be left hungry as welfare of backward segments of society is one of his top priorities.

Earlier in a day, Federal Cabinet took place under PM Imran’s chair. It discussed overall economic and political situation of the country.

The cabinet also gave approval on filing treason case under Article 6 of the constitution against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Mufti Kifayatullah over his anti-state remarks.

On the other hand, the federal cabinet has extended the service tenure of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) chairman Javed Ghani.

After the extension, Javed Ghani will serve as FBR chairman for three more months. Furthermore, the federal cabinet approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the FBI, US and the NAB. The matter of gas loadshedding also came under discussion during today’s meeting.

PM Imran Meets Boxer Amir Khan; exchange views on promotion of sports

Prime Minister Imran Khan has on Tuesday (today) held meeting with world renowned boxer Amir Khan.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on promotion of sports and matters related to social welfare.

He said the biggest challenge of the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government is to overcome the power crisis.

“Ministers should get a full briefing about their ministries,” the Prime Minister added.

“We have to take our governance performance forward.” He said. “It took three months to understand the current crisis in the country.” Imran Khan added. He said that subsidies should be given for wealth creation. “The purpose of subsidies is to help the weaker sections of the society,” said PM Imran.

The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet had approved Mobile Device Manufacturing and EV Policy for two and three-wheelers, last week.

The approval was given during ECC meeting presided over by the Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh in Islamabad.

The forum had also approved the removal of withholding tax of 4 percent on manufacturing to retailers of locally manufactured phones and removal of Sales Tax on locally manufactured phones.

Moreover, the federal cabinet also reviewed the 12-point agenda.

The appointment of the Chairman of the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources was also a part of the Cabinet agenda.

Moreover, approval had been given for the appointment of CEO of USF Company under the Ministry of IT.
