More information about the collision that injured his two kids and killed Ring of Honor professional wrestler Jay Briscoe on Tuesday is now being made public by the Delaware State Police.
The 38-year-old actor was one of the fatalities in the collision east of the small Delaware town of Laurel. Also passed away was Lillyanne Ternahan, 27, of Frankford, Delaware.
Police reported that his daughters, ages 9 and 12, were sent to the hospital in severe condition.
According to a press release, Ternahan was headed west in a Silverado while Jay was driving an eastbound 2015 Silverado 2500 on Laurel Rode.
According to the police, Ternahan’s car went into the center lane and struck Jay’s pickup truck from behind.
The wrestler passed away at the scene because he was not wearing a seatbelt. The second driver also perished.
According to USA Today, Jay and his brother Mark began competing in ROH wrestling in 2002. According to the news source, the two became known as the Briscoe Brothers and were among the most prosperous tag-team combinations in ROH history.
More recently, USA Today revealed that the pair was honoured into the ROH Hall of Fame’s inaugural class last year.
