King Charles distributes royal income to the general welfare

  • The Crown Estate’s profits from offshore wind projects will not go to the Royal Family.
  • Profits from the Crown Estate are transferred to the Treasury.
  • The British monarchy has been criticized for its extravagant lifestyle.

According to King Charles, the money made by the Crown Estate from offshore wind projects should go to the Treasury rather than the Royal Family.

Days prior to the announcement, his son Prince Harry published a contentious book that was directed at the British royal family.

The King’s decision, according to the British media, will result in a decline in the earnings of the Crown Estate, from which working royals receive a 25% cut to pay for their offices and employment.

Even if offshore wind farms are earning more money, the Royal Household will still receive about the same amount of income.

Profits from the Crown Estate are transferred to the Treasury, which then distributes a portion as the sovereign grant to the Royal Family.

The British monarchy has been criticized for its extravagant lifestyles and huge operating costs by anti-monarchists who have long sought for its destruction.

Whether the King made the choice to repair the royal family’s damaged reputation as a result of Prince Harry’s Netflix documentary and his book “Spare” is unclear.
