On the other hand, the Sindh government has lifted the lockdown in the province on Monday and has also revised COVID-19 restrictions, which will last till August 31.

Additionally, the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has expressed deep concern over the rapidly growing number of doctors infected with the coronavirus.

According to the details, the number of COVID-19 cases, which exceeded 5,000 last week, has dropped by almost 20%.

The NCOC data shows that 86 deaths and 3,884 cases were reported in a single day and the number of active cases till August 10 was 84,427 while the level of positive cases at the national level was 7.84%.

An official from the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) said on condition of anonymity that the Sindh government had played a key role in reducing the number of cases.

“Unfortunately, the cases were doubling overnight and Karachi was the most affected city. However, the implementation of lockdown by the Sindh government has stopped the increase in the number of cases and the rate of positive cases in the province,” he said.
