After responding to a young girl’s request for a cookie to be tested for Santa Claus‘ DNA in the most endearing way possible, a police department is receiving a tone of positive feedback online. The incident all began when the department got a letter after Christmas along with a cookie and a carrot that had bite marks. People are smiling after reading the article that the Mayor’s office of Cumberland recently shared on Facebook.

DNA requests by local young investigator,” they wrote as the post’s title, which they shared as a press release. They detailed how they got a “partially eaten cookie and carrot remains” along with a request for “possible DNA evidence of Santa Claus” in the blog post.

“This young lady obviously has a keen sense for truth and the investigative process and did a tremendous job packaging her evidence for submission. We will do our very best to provide answers for her,” they added.

The police department is awaiting the test results, they continued, adding that they have also “uncovered evidence in support of Santa Claus’ existence in her neighborhood” while they are waiting for the test results. A few photographs were used by the department to wrap up the post.

Two days ago, the article was circulated. It has gotten a lot of likes and comments since being posted. Additionally, people posted a variety of reactions in the comments section.

Following is how Facebook users responded:

“This is so wonderful,” wrote a Facebook user. “Very proud of CPD today! Great job,” expressed another. “WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Great job of doing this. I just love it,” posted a third. “Wow,” commented a fourth.
