BEIJING: Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang have expressed their complete solidarity with the government and people of Pakistan over the human and financial losses in the recent floods that devastated huge parts of Pakistan.

The Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong conveyed these special messages to President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif from the Chinese leadership.

China had announced an assistance grant of RMB100 million (Yuan), besides the dispatch of 25,000 tents and other assistance items. The first batch of relief aid containing 300 tents is expected to arrive in Karachi today. The Chinese ambassador would hand over these articles to the Pakistani authorities.

The Chinese envoy had apprised the Government of Pakistan of the decision of the Chinese leadership regarding the relief support.
The prime minister expressed gratitude to the Chinese leadership and said that the Chinese leadership and the people of China had always supported the people of Pakistan with their generosity.
He also conveyed his good wishes to the Chinese leadership.

Earlier, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) authorities on Monday contacted the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and pledged flood relief equipment for flood victims.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the UAE authorities had contacted the COAS for flood relief assistance.

PM Imran receives Good Wishes From His Chinese Counterpart

Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang has conveyed a message to premier Imran Khan and wished him a speedy recovery from COVID-19.

A tweet by the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong stated, “Premier Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of China, sent a letter to Hon. PM Imran Khan and wished him a speedy recovery.”

He further added that the Chinese premier expressed his confidence that Pakistan will definitely achieve victory over the pandemic under the leadership of PM Imran.

However, Prime Minister Imran Khan is “comfortable” in quarantine, says Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information Dr. Shahbaz Gill on Monday.

Shahbaz Gill has also shared the premier’s photo from quarantine. The PM can be seen sitting on a couch and smiling. Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have contracted Covid-19 and both are in quarantine.

The SAPM said in his tweet that PM Khan is doing routine office work from home. He also assured the nation that Khan is comfortable.

Air Chief Marshal launches JF-17 Block-3 at Pakistan Aeronautical Complex

Pakistan Aeronautical Complex has formally launched the production work of Block-III of JF-17 Thunder aircraft on the completion of dual-seat JF-17 fighter jet.

The launching ceremony was held at Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra on Wednesday, which was attended by Air Chief Marshal, Mujahid Anwar Khan and Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong.

Speaking on the occasion, the Air Chief emphasized on indigenization and self-reliance in military hardware.

He praised initiatives of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex Kamra for design, development, manufacturing, and overhaul of aerial warfare assets.

He also applauded the collaboration between aviation industries of Pakistan and China.

Chinese Ambassador, on the occasion, highlighted JF-17 program as a shining example of cooperation between two countries and assured his country’s support for ongoing and future joint ventures in all domains.
