COAS Bajwa, China’s Nong Rong eye strengthening time-tested relations

COAS meets Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa held a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong here on Monday (today) at General headuqarters (GHQ).

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both the leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional security and bilateral cooperation among the two countries.

They also discussed the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Project and matters related to its further development.

Referring to the recent visit of Chinese Defence Minister to Pakistan, COAS said that it will further strengthen our time-tested relations with our ‘Iron Brother’.

The Chinese Ambassador also appreciated Pakistan’s role for peace and stability in the region.

Earlier on November 09, the newly-appointed Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong had paid tribute to the poet of the East, Allama Iqbal.

Taking to his Twitter account, Rong had shared a famous Iqbal’s poetry that read, “Afraad K Hathon Main Hai Aqwam Ki Taqdeer

Her Fard Hai Milat Ke Muqaddar Ka Sitara.”

Sadiq Sanjrani meets Chinese Ambassador

Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani has on Tuesday (today) said the friendly relations between Pakistan and China will help set new direction of socio-economic development of the region.

In a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong in Islamabad, Sadiq Sanjrani said parliamentary democracy plays a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral contacts.

He said exchange of parliamentary delegations has enhanced bilateral social, political and economic relations.

Sadiq Sanjrani said CPEC will bring prosperity and development to the region.

He said promotion of people to people contacts will further strengthen economic partnership.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chinese Ambassador said the two countries’ vision of development and the CPEC will turn this region into a hub of international trade.

He said Pakistan is a very important country for China and we are jointly making efforts for regional development.

“CPEC will turn this region into a hub of international trade,” he added.

Earlier on November 20, China lauded the contributions made by Pakistan for countering terrorism besides also vowing to foil any attempts to sabotage a multi-billion project between the two countries-China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Minister for Information Shibli Faraz has on Wednesday emphasized on enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and China in the fields of media and culture.

In a discussion with the Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong in Islamabad, Shibli Faraz called for enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the field of film, which is one of the vital mediums to promote and project core values and cultural heritage of any society.

The Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan is keen to expedite China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects. Minister also emphasized the need to highlight the benefits of CPEC projects for the general public.

The Ambassador also emphasized close coordination between the media of the two countries to rebut negativities regarding CPEC projects.

He also proposed training of media personnel in light of modern media concepts.

Nong Rong said Chinese side would extend all possible cooperation for enhancing media ties.

He said his country has plans to invite a Pakistani media delegation to visit different cities of China, once the COVID-19 pandemic subsides.

The Ambassador also emphasized close coordination between the media of the two countries to rebut negativities regarding CPEC projects.

Shibli Faraz has also extended invitation to his Chinese counterpart to visit Pakistan to explore avenues for furthering cooperation in the fields of media and information.

Shah expressed his gratitude to China for extending timely assistance to Pakistan to cope with Coronavirus.

He said the entire world knows the exemplary and everlasting friendship that exists between Pakistan and China.

The Chinese Ambassador assured to make all out efforts to further strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
