BTS win Asia’s most prestigious music awards in Hong Kong

BTS was the big winner at the Mnet Asian Music Accolades in Hong Kong on Saturday, taking home nine awards, including Worldwide Icon of the Year, according to Variety.

The presentation, known as MAMA, was the region’s largest music awards event and was available to view as a global live stream telecast on YouTube.

The K-pop stars took home four of the night’s biggest honours, including album of the year, artist of the year, song of the year, and international icon of the year.

The Butter hitmakers collected the trophies with a touching speech in which they said, “For all of those who had difficult times this year, to share strength and comfort, we tried new things in making music and we worked really hard.”

“Butter and Permission to Dance gained enormous love this year, we will share this honour with everyone who worked hard to make great music and performances with us.”

BTS members created their own Instagram accounts on Monday as they are taking a break from group activities.

Within a few hours, almost seven million people had started following each of the members, with V, one of the singers, leading the pack with 7.8 million.

Big Hit Music, the world-famous group’s label, issued a statement on Monday, saying that the vocalists are taking a vacation to’recharge with creative energy,’ hinting to a return in early 2022.

“Hello. This is BIGHIT MUSIC. We would like to inform you that BTS is planning to take a second official extended period of rest since their first in 2019 after they complete their official scheduled events of BTS Permission To Dance On Stage- LA and the 2021 Jingle Ball Tour,” statement read.

“BTS will be focusing on preparing for the concert and release of the new album that will mark the beginning of a ‘new chapter’. They are preparing for a concert this coming March to connect and communicate with the fans in-person in Seoul,” statement added.

The Korean boy band BTS has officially announced their plans for an official ‘Permission To Dance On Stage’ concert.

According to the international media, the announcement read, “Holding an in-person concert in the midst of COVID-19 is not easy, but after looking for opportunities to do so, we are able to hold the concert in the United States after taking the national and regional health regulations and circumstances into consideration.”

“It is our deepest regret that we are unable to hold more concerts in more areas. We will do our best to put on additional concerts for not only Korean fans but also fans from all around the world who have been patiently waiting for a long time.”

Korean boy band BTS recently revealed their plans for brand new and upcoming live-streamed concert plans after the cancellation of their world tour due to the covid-19 pandemic.

According to the news, their statement read, “However, due to changing circumstances beyond our control, it has become difficult to resume performances at the same scale and timeline as previously planned.”

It also went on to read, “Therefore we must announce the cancellation of the BTS MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR.”

“Our sincere apology to all fans who have waited for the BTS MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR to resume. We are working on preparing a viable schedule and performance format that can meet your expectations, and we will provide updated notices as soon as possible.”
