A bird flu outbreak in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh has killed more than 1,800 guest birds.
According to Indian media reports, a bird flu outbreak in the Pong wetland area of Himachal Pradesh has killed more than 1,800 guest birds. The local administration has banned the human movement in the 10 km area with bird flu.
On the other hand, an alert has been issued for the spread of bird flu in the Indian state of Rajasthan. In the Indore area of Madhya Pradesh, signs of bird flu have also been found in the crows.
Chief Conservator of Forests Archana Sharma said samples of dead birds were sent to the laboratory at the Indian Veterinary Research Institute in Bareilly, which detected avian influenza.
He said the department was awaiting confirmation from the Bhopal National Institute of High-Security Animal Diseases (NIHS) as it is an authoritative body for testing the disease.
It should be noted that 20,000 ducks were mysteriously killed in the Indian state of Kerala in the last few days.
“So far, the investigation has revealed that the deaths of the ducks were not caused by bird flu. We are trying to find out the cause of the deaths of the ducks,” said officials from the Department of Microbiology.
