In a significant development on Monday, it was revealed that the female TikToker Ayesha Akram who was the victim in the 2021 Minar-i-Pakistan assault case has pardoned all suspects involved.

Back in August 2021, Lahore police had filed cases against numerous unidentified individuals for attacking and robbing TikToker Ayesha Akram and her group at Greater Iqbal Park in Lahore on Independence Day. The incident occurred during a period of heightened attention to gender-based violence in Pakistan, following the tragic deaths of Noor Mukadam and Quratul Ain in July 2021. Videos capturing the assault quickly went viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage among celebrities and politicians alike.

Additional session judge Gul Abbas issued an order, stemming from a hearing held on June 25. According to the order, the victim appeared in court on June 3 and submitted her affidavit. Subsequently, the judge called for arguments at a hearing scheduled for August 26.

In her affidavit filed on June 3, the victim stated, “I did not wish to pursue the case further as I have forgiven all my suspects for the sake of Allah and His Holy Prophet (PBUH).” She clarified that she had “no objection to the suspects’ being acquitted” and emphasized that her statement was made “of her own consent and without any fear or threat.”
