Aishwarya Rai Reveals Why She Takes Her Daughter Aaradhya to Every Event

Alongside her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai attended the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) Utsavam 2024 in Abu Dhabi. In an interview with the media, Aishwarya gave an explanation for why Aaradhya frequently goes to events with her. When asked by a reporter, she replied, “She’s my daughter. She goes with me everywhere.” Additionally, earlier this week, Aaradhya accompanied Aishwarya to Paris for an L’Oreal Paris event, and they have since accompanied her to multiple Cannes Film Festival appearances.

Aishwarya gave filmmaker Mani Ratnam the Best Director (Tamil) Award for Ponniyin Selvan II during the IIFA Utsavam. In a touching moment, Aishwarya was seen touching Mani Ratnam’s feet to seek his blessings, followed by a warm hug. She reflected on her association with the director, saying, “I can’t even speak about his evolution as a maker because I have always respected him… I was so honoured that he asked me to be his Nandini in Ponniyin Selvan.”

In addition, Aishwarya’s performance in Ponniyin Selvan II—which received 13 nominations—won her the Best Actress (Tamil) award. Artists like Honey Singh and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy will perform at the IIFA Utsavam, a three-day event that honors the southern film industries, on September 29.

Abhishek Bachchan’s current performance in “Ghoomer,” which premiered in theatres on Friday, is receiving enthusiastic praise from both viewers and critics. He’s being commended for his role as a resilient mentor who empowers his mentee, Saiyami Kher, to become a successful cricket player despite her disability.

Numerous industry peers like Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, and Indian cricketers including Virender Sehwag and R Ashwin have elevated Abhishek and praised the film. Nevertheless, the most significant support comes from Abhishek’s own family. Initially, his father Amitabh Bachchan wrote a glowing review of the movie. Presently, his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and daughter Aaradhya Bachchan were seen in the audience cheering for him during the film’s screening.

Recently, the film’s creators arranged a screening in Mumbai attended by the cast, crew, and their families. Fresh photographs from the event have surfaced on Instagram, showcasing the “Ghoomer” team alongside Aishwarya and Aaradhya. In the images, the Bachchan family donned coordinated custom black hoodies. Abhishek combined his hoodie with beige pants and a black cap, while Aishwarya looked stunning with subtle makeup accented by red lipstick. Their daughter appeared adorable with a black hairband. The film’s leading actress, Saiyami Kher, and director R Balki also participated. A particular photo captured a tender moment where Aishwarya playfully drew her child’s face closer.

Earlier, Aishwarya had expressed her excitement for her husband’s film on social media, giving it a shoutout.

The main cast visited theaters in Mumbai to gauge the audience’s reactions while watching the film. They engaged with the audience, signing autographs and taking selfies with them. Some fans even referred to Abhishek as a ‘rockstar’ and encouraged him to appear in movies more frequently. Abhishek shared a video from one of these visits, conveying his gratitude and writing, “My heartfelt thanks to all of you who came together and shared your love. Being a part of this was truly touching and meant a lot to me.”

Aishwarya gave Abhishek the confidence he never had

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai had worked together in Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000) and Kuch Naa Kaho (2003).
The couple got married on April 20, 2007 in a private ceremony at the old Bachchan residence, Prateeksha.
The actor once revealed how his life changed for the better after marriage with Aishwarya.

Before getting married, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai collaborated on the movies Kuch Naa Kaho (2000) and Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000). (2003). A few years later, they started dating, and on Valentine’s Day of 2007, they declared their engagement. On April 20, 2007, the couple exchanged vows in a small ceremony at the previous Bachchan home, Prateeksha. The actor once discussed how becoming married to Aishwarya improved his life.

Aishwarya once referred to Abhishek as “a well-mannered, chivalrous youngster and a knight in shining armor” when he was younger. He turns 47 on February 5. The actor admitted to talk show presenter Oprah Winfrey on her broadcast that he proposed to Aishwarya Rai while they were touring New York to promote Guru (2007). But after getting married, they only collaborated in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan (2010). Aaradhya Bachchan, their 11-year-old daughter, is also their child.

The actor previously discussed how his wife supported him after they got married in an old interview “I now have a confidence I never had before thanks to her. I believe that most males will concur with this. My sister, who got married a long time ago and is very protective of me, is the baby of the family. I wasn’t actually blamed for anything. However, after getting married—and this simply came naturally—I realized I wanted to be responsible for this person, to care for and protect her.”

Additionally, the actor had stated that he did not view marriage as a concession. Being married to her and having her in his life were “of more value and happiness” to him than anything he could compromise on, he had said.

Aishwarya last appeared in Mani Ratnam’s historical drama PS – 1 in a dual role as queens Nandini and Mandakini Devi. The second installment of the Chola dynasty tale, which is based on the classic Tamil novel Ponniyin Selvan, will be released in theaters on April 28.

For Breathe: Into the Shadows’ second season on Prime Video, Abhishek made a comeback. Along with Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur, he also had a role in the comedy Dasvi last year. He plays a coach to Saiyami Kher, who plays a cricket player in R Balki’s Ghoomer.
