According to a recent poll, the conflict between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and the British royal family may be influencing Australians’ decision to vote for a republic.
A survey by Resolve Strategic for the Sydney Morning Herald found that 39% of Australians supported an Australian republic, up from 26% before Queen Elizabeth II’s passing in September.
Voters opposed the constitutional reform in 37 percent of cases before, but that percentage has now fallen to 31 percent.
In his frank biography Spare, Prince Harry described the physical fights between him and Prince William. Prince Harry alleged, among other things, that he and Meghan Markle were victimised in the royal circle.
Additionally, 93 percent of people, according to the poll, are aware of the allegations Prince Harry made against the royal family.
