Google Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro color options announced

Google Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro color options
  • Color options for the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro have been revealed.
  • The two phones will be offered in Obsidian and Snow as well as Lemongrass and Hazel.
  • Google’s Tensor G2 processor, which powers the Pixel 7 series, is now also mentioned on the home page.

Google recently unveiled the color possibilities for the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.

Each of the two future smartphones will be offered in three color options. The publicly available photographs also reveal the two models’ somewhat different rear camera bars.

Google’s newest Tensor G2 SoC will be used to power the Pixel 7 line of smartphones. On October 6, Google will hold a launch event for the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel Watch.

On the occasion, new Nest smart home gadgets will also be unveiled.

The color options for both of the Pixel 7 series smartphones are now displayed on the landing page for the Google shop. The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro both come in the Obsidian and Snow color options.

Hazel with a gold camera strip is the third color option for the Pixel 7 Pro, while Lemongrass with a bronze bar is the third colour option for the Pixel 7.

Although the two phones have similar designs, the Pixel 7 Pro seems to have a polished, shiny appearance, while the Pixel 7 seems to go for a matte finish.

Additionally, the metal strip on the Pixel 7 Pro has two cutouts as opposed to the Pixel 7’s single cutout.

The Pixel 7 Pro’s separate cutout might contain a telephoto camera in addition to the bigger slot’s two image sensors.

The Google Tensor G2 next-generation processor, which powers the Pixel 7 series, is now also mentioned on the home page.

New “personalized features to photographs, videos, security, and speech recognition” are reportedly included. Additionally, these smartphones can boot Android 13 right out of the box.

Google said on Tuesday that the Pixel 7 series will debut on October 6. On the same occasion, the Google Pixel Watch, the company’s first developed and manufactured wearable, will also be unveiled.

WearOS will be used by the watch, which will work with Android and Pixel phones.

Google announces launch date for its iPhone 14 rivals
  • Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were first previewed in May at Google I/O.
  • The Pixel 7 will come in the colors Obsidian, Lemongrass, and Snow.
  • There isn’t much information on the Pixel 7’s specifications save the second-generation Tensor chipset.

The Pixel Watch, Buds Pro, and Google’s upcoming flagship phone series have all received official launch dates from the company.

The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro were first previewed in May at Google I/O, but the official launch date has now been announced.

On October 6 at 7 PM PKT, Google will reveal its future smartphones. The dominant search engine has also revealed the name of the upcoming SoC that will power Pixel 7 handsets.

According to most sources, it was going to be called the Tensor 2, but it will now be called the Tensor G2. The G might stand for “Google,” a condensed version of “gen 2,” or even both.

The Google Pixel 7’s design is also known to us thanks to the company’s recent teasers.

The camera visor style of previous Pixel phones is still present, but this time there are individual cutouts for each lens.

Although the display bezels are a little bit smaller than before, the rest of the phone is largely unchanged.

Google has also disclosed the color possibilities for the Pixel 7 smartphones.

The Pixel 7 will come in the colors Obsidian, Lemongrass, and Snow, while the Pixel 7 Pro will sport a Hazel shade rather than Lemongrass.

There isn’t much information available regarding the Pixel 7’s specifications save the second-generation Tensor chipset.

The Pixel 7 Pro will reportedly come with an additional 48MP telephoto lens on top of the standard Pixel 7’s 50MP main camera and 12MP ultrawide lens.

The Pixel 7 is anticipated to have the same size as the Pixel 6 at 6.3 inches (down from 6.4 inches), but the Pixel 7 Pro will be slightly smaller.

The resolution and adaptive refresh rate are anticipated to remain the same, even if the phones utilize a new display panel.

Amazon, Google criticize Microsoft’s cloud modifications

Microsoft's cloud modifications
  • Microsoft’s (MSFT.O) recent improvements to cloud computing have been attacked by Amazon and Google.
  • The companies claim that they hinder competition and deter users from transferring.
  • Microsoft’s action comes after smaller European Union rivals complained to EU antitrust officials about its cloud service policies.

Microsoft’s (MSFT.O) recent improvements to cloud computing have been attacked by Amazon (AMZN.O) and Google, a unit of Alphabet (GOOGL.O), who claim that they hinder competition and deter users from transferring to competing cloud service providers.

On Monday, the US software behemoth revealed new licensing agreements and other adjustments that will go into effect on October 1 and, according to the company, will make it simpler for cloud service providers to compete.

The transactions will not include Microsoft’s own cloud services, Amazon, Google, Alibaba (9988. HK), or any other cloud provider.

Microsoft’s action came after smaller European Union rivals complained to EU antitrust officials about its cloud service policies.

The regulators then questioned market participants on the matter and the effects they have seen.

Amazon was harsh in its criticisms, trailing just Microsoft and Google as the top cloud service providers.

Instead of listening to its customers and restoring fair software licensing in the cloud for everyone, Microsoft is now doubling-down on the same harmful practices by implementing even more restrictions in an unfair attempt to limit the competition it faces, a spokesperson for its cloud service unit AWS said in an email.

Marcus Jadotte, Google’s vice president for policy and government affairs, had a similar critique.

In a tweet, he stated that “the promise of the cloud is flexible, elastic computing without contractual lock-ins.”

Customers ought to be free to switch between platforms and select the technology that best suits their needs rather than Microsoft’s, according to Jadotte.

Google fires employee for opposing $1 billion Israeli project

Google fires employee for opposing $1 billion Israeli project
  • Ariel Koren was forced to resign after she objected to a $1 billion agreement involving Google, Amazon, the Israeli government, and the military.
  • She claimed that Google is increasingly favoring military contracts while also silencing employees who disagree with them.
  • Google CEO and Youtube CEO issued emails expressing sympathy for Israelis but little concern for the oppressed Palestinians.

Ariel Koren, a Google employee, was forced to resign after she objected to a $1 billion agreement involving Google, Amazon, the Israeli government, and the military.

According to reports, Ms. Koren took offense at Google’s $1.2 billion Project Nimbus deal with Amazon and Google to provide Israel’s military with artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and other computing services.

She stated that because of her disagreement, the world’s largest search engine created a hostile environment and engaged in criminal activity, leaving her with no choice but to resign.

She claimed in her blog post that Google is increasingly favoring military contracts while also silencing employees who disagree with them.

She accused Google of abusing its Employee Resource Groups (ERG) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) structures to support its behavior.

Additionally, she claimed that Google purposefully silences Palestinian, Jewish, Arab, and Muslim employees concerned about the company’s complicity in Palestinian human rights crimes. The company then creates a scary environment for them.

According to Koren, the corporation was able to protect its financial interests with the Israeli military and government by silencing the voices in this way.

She has urged Googlers (Google Workers) to find out more about Project Nimbus and take counteractions.

She also posted a video of Palestinian Google employees and their supporters criticizing the initiative.

She also disclosed that although the Jewglers, an internal Jewish support group, were created to represent Jews and combat any form of prejudice against them, they have instead been used as a vehicle to propagate right-wing ideologies under the guise of promoting diversity.

Exploiting the ERG structure has silenced numerous Googlers who were speaking out in favor of Palestine’s freedom.

The corporation uses this structure to deflect questions and concerns about its ties to the Israeli government.

Ms. Koren added that even though Israel received harsh condemnation for its airstrikes in Gaza in May 2021 that claimed the lives of 250 Palestinians, including 60 children, the Jewglers insisted that the company’s executives show their support for Israel.

As a result, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Youtube CEO Susan Wojcicki issued emails expressing sympathy for Israelis but little concern for the oppressed Palestinians.

Google to award 15,000 scholarships to Pakistani students annually

Google to award 15,000 scholarships to Pakistani students
  • Google has offered 15,000 annual scholarships to capable young people from Pakistan.
  • Pakistan’s IT exports could easily reach $10 billion in the following few years.
  • South Korea has provided Pakistan’s information technology sector with a $1 billion loan.

According to a local publication, US-based global IT corporation Google has offered 15,000 annual scholarships to capable young people from Pakistan in an effort to revolutionize the country’s very promising IT sector.

According to Senator Dr. Afnanullah Khan, a member of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Information Technology (IT), “the American tech giant wants to invest $3.5 million in Pakistan”.

In a similar vein, he said that the sale of 5G licenses would generate billions of dollars in foreign exchange while also attracting significant venture capital investment in the private sector.

The senator claimed that Pakistan’s IT exports could easily reach $10 billion in the following few years with only a little planning.

He also said that South Korea has provided Pakistan’s information technology sector with a $1 billion loan with a 0.1 percent interest rate.

Pakistan can concentrate on a variety of IT-related topics to quickly establish itself as a regional IT power.

The senator went on to say that he was working both individually and with the government to bring about a revolution in the nation’s IT industry.

“I want to use my advanced training in information technology for the good of the nation.”

Senator Khan has completed IT projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars and holds a Ph.D. in information technology from Oxford University.

He claimed that the PML-N leadership was aware of the struggles faced by Pakistanis and desired for the country to grow more in the IT industry since, in contrast to other industries, investments in the IT sector paid off extremely rapidly.

He claimed that an important initiative that was now in progress involved the export of IT personnel to a nation like Japan.

“Therefore”, he continued, “every effort will be made to boost the government’s focus on this area in order to remove the barriers to foreign investment.”

Reliance and Google collaborate to develop new smartphone

Reliance and Google collaborate
  • Reliance announced on Monday that it is collaborating with Google to provide a low-cost 5G smartphone.
  • 5G data speeds in India are anticipated to be roughly 10 times faster than those of 4G.
  • Reliance purchased airwaves worth $11 billion earlier this month in a $19 billion 5G spectrum auction.

Reliance, the largest telecom provider in India, announced on Monday that it is collaborating with Google, a unit of Alphabet Inc., to provide a low-cost 5G smartphone as part of a $25 billion ambition to offer the new cellular services within two months.

Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani stated during the company’s annual general meeting that Jio’s 5G network will be the largest in the world and will begin in major cities like New Delhi and Mumbai before being spread throughout India by December of next year.

One of the wealthiest individuals in India, Ambani, simply stated that the phone being created with Google would be “ultra-affordable.”

The least expensive 5G phones are presently available in India, where 700 million people do not own a smartphone.

A sub-$100 phone is necessary to bring 5G to the masses, and Jio is well-positioned to do so, according to Neil Shah, vice president of research at Counterpoint.

The network is viewed as essential for upcoming technologies like self-driving cars and artificial intelligence, and 5G data speeds in India are anticipated to be roughly 10 times faster than those of 4G.

In the second-largest mobile market in the world, Reliance’s 5G plans throw down the gauntlet to rivals Bharti Airtel and Vodafone-Idea.

In a sluggish Mumbai market where Reliance also down 0.78%, shares of Airtel and Vodafone closed down 1.3% and 3.3%, respectively.

Jio, the largest mobile network in India with more than 420 million subscribers, purchased airwaves worth $11 billion earlier this month in a $19 billion 5G spectrum auction.

The ambitious 5G strategy builds on Jio’s playbook for upending India’s telecoms market, which it used to debut inexpensive 4G data plans and free call services in 2016, as well as a 4G smartphone for just $81 in conjunction with Google. These moves set off a price war.

JioMart, a grocery shopping app from Reliance, will soon be integrated with investor-partner Meta Platform Inc.’s WhatsApp, enabling customers to make purchases using the messaging service.

Isha Ambani stated separately that Reliance will open a new consumer products company this year without providing any other information.

According to a May article, Reliance wants to develop a $6.5 billion company to compete with global goliaths like Unilever by acquiring dozens of grocery and non-food businesses.
