After purchasing Carmel Castle, Brad Pitt recently made the decision to relocate to Central California in order to enjoy a quieter life away from the bustle of Hollywood.

The Bullet Train actor, who has lived in his enormous Los Angeles estate for nearly 30 years and is made up of five houses, has put his property up for rent.

The 58-year-old actor paid a staggering $40 million for the former residence of American author D.L. James in Carmel, which is described as a “luxury seaside village in California,” earlier in July.

Doris Day, Joan Fontaine, Betty White, and Clint Eastwood were among the retired Tinseltown celebrities who loved the home where Pitt would stay.

A publicly available mortgage document for the Southern California property revealed Mr. and Mrs. Smith’s actor’s significant decision to rent out his opulent LA home.

Cynthia Pett-Dante, manager of Pitt, revealed to the publication that she had entered into a “deed of trust and assignment of rents” with City National Bank in June.

For the uninitiated, the Troy actor started constructing his massive LA home in 1994. The actor had a passion for architecture and wanted to build a “free-flowing compound” that was similar to the original home.

Speaking about Pitt’s luxurious LA home, his friend, director Andrew Dominik said in a previous interview, “You go to the homes of most movie stars and they’re like really, really nice hotel rooms. Brad lives in pieces of art. There’s a breeze blowing through every window. As soon as you walk through the door, you feel stoned.”
