Musk claims Tesla Cybertruck can also become a boat

Musk claims Tesla Cybertruck can also become a boat
  • Tesla Cybertruck will be able to cross water if necessary, according to the company’s CEO.
  • The electric vehicle is made of stainless steel, and it has a stylish, geometrical shape.
  • Production was scheduled to begin in 2022, however, the launch date has been moved to 2023.

Elon Musk, the wealthy CEO of Tesla, stated that if necessary, the Tesla Cybertruck will be strong and safe enough to function “briefly as a boat.”

The CEO of the company claimed on Twitter that the futuristic truck, which resembles something out of a science fiction film, will be waterproof and able to “cross rivers, lakes, and seas that are not too turbulent.”

Musk cited the need for the vehicle to cross the channel between the SpaceX facility Starbase and South Padre Island as the reason the Cybertruck was constructed in that manner.

Tesla enthusiasts became intrigued right away.

Even the truck was imagined by a user.

In 2019, the Tesla Cybertruck was unveiled. Tesla’s production was scheduled to begin in late 2022, however, the launch date has been moved to the beginning of 2023.

The electric vehicle is made of stainless steel, which is also used in rockets, and it has a stylish, geometrical shape.

According to the Tesla website, the truck outperforms sports cars in terms of performance.

Musk had stated in a tweet earlier this year that the initial manufacturing would be a four-motor model with separate, ultra-fast reaction torque control of each wheel.

Elon Musk launches Tesla Humanoid Robot

Elon Musk launches Tesla Humanoid Robot
  • Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has unveiled a prototype of the Optimus humanoid robot.
  • Production may begin as early as next year, and future uses could include cooking, gardening, and other things.
  • According to reports, the robot was ready in just six months.

The future depicted in the film I, Robot is getting closer to us.

According to Tesla’s latest robot demonstration, we will soon have robots helping us with daily duties, at least in factories before our homes.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has unveiled a prototype of the Optimus humanoid robot. With its autopilot driver assistance system available on its cars, Tesla provides some of its AI software and sensors.

It was also the first time Optimus operated without a tether on stage, according to Musk, who claims that it will be able to accomplish far more than what was demonstrated live.

The CEO continued, “Optimus is built for mass manufacturing to be created in millions, which makes it different from previous amazing humanoid robots.”

The robot entered the stage first and performed the “raise the roof” dance motion. A few videos showing Optimus performing additional jobs, like as picking up boxes, are also provided by the company.

Later, the Tesla team unveiled a new prototype of Optimus that was “quite near to production,” with its body fully constructed but not yet fully functional.

Although it could wave to the crowd, Musk claimed that it wasn’t yet ready to walk. According to reports, the robot was ready in just six months.

It boasts Wi-Fi and LTE connection, a 2.3kWh battery pack, and a Tesla SoC. The presentation concentrated on how the robot moved its hands and joints, demonstrating how it analysed data for each joint.

In the future, this should enable the robot to pick up tiny parts with a precise grip.

According to Musk, production may begin as early as next year, and future uses could include cooking, gardening, and other things.

According to him, the assembly line and production operations of the corporation would undergo a revolution. Its pricing could be “likely less than $20,000.”

Elon Musk demands to end SEC tweet pre-approval

Elon Musk demands to end SEC
  • Elon Musk is suing the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over a pre-approval requirement for some of his Twitter posts.
  • His attorneys argue that the rule went against American values of free speech and violated the US Constitution.
  • Musk is suing Twitter over his April deal to buy the company for $44 billion.

Elon Musk’s attorneys argued before a federal appeals court that a clause in his 2018 consent agreement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) should be struck down because it mandated that a Tesla Inc lawyer review some of his Twitter statements.

The pre-approval requirement was referred to by Musk’s attorneys as a “government-imposed muzzle” in a brief that was sent late on Tuesday to the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan.

This restriction prevented Musk from exercising his right to free expression on a variety of subjects.

In addition, they said that the rule went against American values of free speech and open debate and violated the US Constitution.

An outside-of-market hours inquiry for comment received no immediate response from the SEC. It’s anticipated that it will submit its own brief to the appeals court.

Musk is attempting to overturn a portion of US District Judge Lewis Liman’s ruling on April 27 that denied his request to completely invalidate the consent decree.

Since “his corporation has become, in his perspective, all but indestructible,” Liman claimed that Musk’s comments amounted to a “bemoaning” of requirements he no longer wished to follow.

According to Forbes magazine on Wednesday, Musk, 51, is worth $259.8 billion, which is nearly twice as much as anyone else.

A lawsuit against Musk for allegedly misleading investors by tweeting on August 7, 2018, that he had “funding secured” to take his electric car firm private, even though a buyout was not imminent, was concluded by the decree.

According to Musk, the tweet was accurate.

As part of the settlement, Musk consented to let a Tesla attorney review tweets for any potential significant information about the business.

Additionally, Musk and Tesla each paid $20 million in civil penalties, and Musk resigned as chairman of Tesla.

But after Musk questioned his followers in a tweet on November 6, 2021 whether he should sell 10% of his Tesla ownership to pay tax liabilities on stock options, the SEC later started an investigation and demanded records pertaining to Musk’s and Tesla’s compliance.

In their petition on Tuesday, Musk’s attorneys said that the SEC needed to be controlled.

“Under the shadow of the consent decree, the SEC has increasingly surveilled, policed, and attempted to curb Mr. Musk’s protected speech that does not touch upon the federal securities laws,” the lawyers wrote.

“Any objective served by the pre-approval provision has been served.”

Separately, Musk is attempting to back out of his April deal to purchase Twitter for $44 billion, claiming the company misled him by understating the number of false accounts.

To compel him to execute the merger at the agreed-upon price, which is 23% more than where its shares ended trading on Tuesday, Twitter has filed a lawsuit against Musk. Delaware Chancery Court has scheduled a nonjury trial for October 17.

Musk v. SEC, 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals, No. 22-1291, is the name of the case.

Elon Musk trolls NASA

  • The image was used to troll NASA by Elon Musk on his Twitter account.
  • The image is related to Rock making a joke about Jada Pinkett Smith’s alopecia at the Oscars.

An image of Hollywood actor Will Smith slapping his coworker Chris Rock was used to troll the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) by the wealthy founder of Tesla.

Elon Musk did not give a caption, leaving that up to Twitter followers. Over 430,000 people have already liked it, and over 35,000 people have retweeted it.

The NASA DART spacecraft successfully slammed into a far-off asteroid at hypersonic speed on Monday in the first test of a planetary defense system meant to avert a potential catastrophic meteorite collision with Earth.

This was the subject of Musk’s tweet.

Ten months after DART was launched, a NASA live stream from the mission operations center outside of Washington, DC, captured humanity’s first attempt to change the motion of an asteroid or any celestial body.

After Rock made a joke at the Oscars equating his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, who has short hair, to GI Jane, Smith smacked the actor. It’s still unknown if Rock was aware that Pinkett Smith had alopecia.

Elon Musk to activate Starlink in response to Blinken’s tweet

Musk awaits Pakistan's approval for Starlink launch
  • SpaceX CEO Elon Musk indicated on Friday that he will activate the company’s satellite internet service, Starlink.
  • The new license was self-executing, according to a US State Department spokeswoman.
  • Iran has been rocked by protests following the murder of a woman in police custody.

After US Secretary of State Antony Blinken tweeted that the US took steps “to encourage internet freedom and the free flow of information” to Iranians, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk indicated on Friday that he will activate the company’s satellite internet service, Starlink.

In the midst of protests across Iran following the murder of a 22-year-old woman in jail, the US Treasury Department on Friday published recommendations for increasing internet services available to Iranians despite US sanctions on the country.

“Our understanding of Starlink is that anything they give would be commercial grade, and it would be hardware that’s not covered in the general license; so that would be something they would need to write into Treasury for,” a Treasury official briefing reporters said.

The new license was self-executing, according to a later statement from a US State Department spokeswoman, and “anyone who fits the criteria indicated in this general license can proceed with their operations without asking additional approvals.”

For comments or clarification regarding Starlink’s authorization to operate in Iran, Musk could not be reached.

Iranians have been protesting since Mahsa Amini passed away last week in police custody after being detained by the morality police for “unsuitable dress” and being arrested.

On Monday, Musk stated that the company planned to apply for a sanctions exception in order to offer Iranians the Starlink satellite broadband service that was previously given to Ukraine in support of its defense against Russian invasion.

The spokeswoman for the US State Department stated that “OFAC would welcome it and prioritize it” if SpaceX found that an operation directed at Iranians needs a particular authorization.

The State Department official added, “By the same token, if SpaceX decides that their conduct is already allowed and has any queries, OFAC likewise welcomes that interaction.”

Elon Musk confronts US professor over emerald mine claim

Elon Musk emerald mine claim
  • Elon Musk calls Robert Reich an “idiot and a liar” for claiming that self-made millionaires are a myth.
  • Business tycoon is ranked as the richest person in the world by Forbes magazine’s latest list.
  • Claims his family owned an emerald mine have been in the news since 2018 or even before.

Business tycoon Elon Musk, who is now ranked as the richest person in the world, attacked an American professor on Wednesday for holding the belief that “self-made millionaires are a fantasy.”

Berkeley professor Robert Reich argues that the majority of the world’s wealthiest people actually belonged to the privileged class and had financial security when they began out in a video explanation of how people regarded to be “self-made billionaires” attained this status.

He gave other instances, including those of Bill Gates, whose mother “helped Microsoft get a deal with IBM,” and Jeff Bezos, whose parents provided a “quarter-million dollar investment” for his garage firm.

One of these instances was the claim made by a US professor that Elon Musk’s family “owned an emerald mine in Apartheid South Africa.”

Musk responded to the claim with a frank tweet, labelling Reich “an idiot and a liar.”

According to an Indian business journal, the story about his family owning an emerald mine has been in the news since 2018 or even before because another report made comparable claims.

Elon Musk looks to be on to something when he said in a tweet last year that “there’s no evidence whatsoever of an emerald mine” in response to such rumors.

Twitter shareholders approve Musk buyout deal

Twitter shareholders approve Musk buyout deal
  • The vote comes as Musk is attempting to have the agreement terminated.
  • Twitter filed a lawsuit against Musk for allegedly breaking the terms of the deal.
  • A trial is scheduled to start in October.

Tuesday’s shareholder vote approved Elon Musk’s $44 billion offer to buy Twitter and take it private.

The vote comes as Musk is attempting to have the agreement terminated.

He questions Twitter’s self-reported percentage of bogus accounts and claims the business was not completely transparent in its explanation of how the calculation was made.

Twitter has maintained that fewer than 5% of monetizable daily active users are spam or false, and it claims to have given Musk all the information necessary to fulfil the terms of the agreement.

Twitter filed a lawsuit against Musk for allegedly breaking the terms of the deal, and the Delaware Court of Chancery is currently hearing the matter.

A trial is scheduled to start in the middle of October.

A former Twitter security head recently submitted a whistleblower complaint alleging gross securities violations by the company, and the court in the case recently allowed Musk’s team to alter their counterclaim against Twitter to include those claims.

Peiter “Mudge” Zatko, the whistleblower, gave testimony earlier on Tuesday before a Senate committee.

Musk’s attorney asks judge to postpone Twitter trial

Musk’s attorney asks judge to postpone Twitter trial
  • Musk is attempting to terminate his $44 billion deal with Twitter Inc. without paying a $1 billion termination fee.
  • “It won’t make sense to buy Twitter if we’re headed toward World War III,” Musk wrote to a banker, lawyer says.
  • The hearing was adjourned without a decision being made on the injunction request.

Elon Musk’s attorney argued to the judge on Tuesday that the judge should postpone the trial for a few weeks so that the billionaire can look into allegations of security on the social media platform made by a whistleblower.

Musk is attempting to terminate his $44 billion deal with Twitter Inc.

Alex Spiro, Musk’s attorney, questioned why justice didn’t require a few weeks to investigate this during a hearing in Wilmington, Delaware.

Whistleblower charges that were made public last month gave Musk, the richest man in the world, new support for his improbable attempt to terminate the agreement without paying a $1 billion termination fee, according to legal experts.

Peiter Zatko, a well-known hacker known as “Mudge,” who served as Twitter’s previous head of security, claimed in a complaint to authorities that the firm misrepresented that it had a reliable data security strategy.

Twitter has called Zatko’s claims “false narratives,” and on Tuesday, the company’s counsel charged that the billionaire was using the whistleblower claims to hide the fact that he allegedly rushed into buying the business without fully understanding the risks.

Mr. Musk is attributing his lack of standard due diligence to Twitter, according to William Savitt, an attorney for the company.

He pleaded with the court to stop Musk from including whistleblower claims in his complaint, but if that were to happen, he said the five-day trial should start on October 17 as scheduled.

“It won’t make sense to buy Twitter if we’re headed toward World War III,” Musk wrote in a message to a banker in early May that surfaced in the litigation, Savitt said.

According to Savitt, it shows that Musk is looking for any means to get out of the agreement and that his early comments about bots and phoney accounts were just a cover for doing so.

Musk and Twitter are battling it out in court. The business is requesting an injunction from Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick of the Delaware Court of Chancery compelling Musk to purchase the business at the $54.20 per share price he agreed to in April.

Twitter’s stock slightly increased to close Tuesday’s session at $38.65 per share.

Tuesday’s hearing was adjourned by McCormick without a decision date being announced.

Musk, who is also the CEO of the electric car manufacturer Tesla Inc., first countersued Twitter for deceiving him about the number of phoney or automated accounts the social media platform was home to, which he claimed permitted him to back out of the arrangement.

  • Elon Musk blasted Amazon Prime Video’s fantasy series “Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power”.

In a recent sequence of tweets, Tesla CEO Elon Musk blasted Amazon Prime Video’s billion-dollar fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power.

On Monday, the billionaire took to Twitter to express his negative evaluation of the series, which had the largest debut in Prime Video history – with 25 million viewers.

“Tolkien is turning in his grave,” Musk wrote in reference to the series’ late author J.R.R. Tolkien. “Almost every male character so far is a coward, a jerk or both. Only Galadriel is brave, smart and nice,” he added.

After the two tech titans competed over their space ventures, Musk’s SpaceX and Bezos’ Blue Origin, Musk’s appears to play into his rivalry with Amazon’s billionaire founder Jeff Bezos.

Meanwhile, Rings of Power is set “thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness,” the logline reads.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is available to stream on Prime Video.

Musk sends letter to terminate Twitter contract

Musk sends letter to terminate Twitter contract
  • Elon Musk delivered a second letter of deal termination to Twitter on Tuesday.
  • He served whistleblower Peiter Zatko with a subpoena demanding information on how Twitter checks spam accounts.
  • The five-day trial will start on October 17 in the Delaware Court of Chancery.

After the richest man in the world served a whistleblower with a subpoena demanding information on how Twitter checks spam accounts, Elon Musk delivered a second letter of deal termination to the social media platform.

In July, Musk withdrew from a $44 billion bid for Twitter, claiming that the firm had lied to him and authorities about the actual amount of spam or bot accounts on the microblogging service.

Musk has reportedly asked Peiter Zatko, a whistleblower and the former head of Twitter’s security, for information, mostly regarding how the microblogging site determines which accounts are spam, according to a court document filed on Monday.

Famous hacker “Mudge” Zatko stated in his complaint, which was made public last week, that the corporation had misrepresented its security measures and had placed user growth over spam prevention.

Following the revelation, Musk’s legal team said that allegations based on specific facts that were previously unknown to them but known to Twitter before July 8 had surfaced, offering further and compelling reasons to terminate the agreement.

The summons to Zatko were issued in advance of the five-day trial that will start on October 17 in the Delaware Court of Chancery.

Twitter is requesting that Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick order Musk to purchase the stock at the agreed-upon price of $54.20 a share even if Musk wants to cancel the deal.

According to a regulatory filing made by Musk on Tuesday, a further termination notice with a date of August 29 was also given in case the one from July 8 was found to be invalid for any reason.

Before the bell, shares of Twitter were down 2.5% at $39.02.

Elon Musk’s Twitter war escalates

Elon Musk's Twitter war
  • A US judge ordered Twitter to hand over more information to Elon Musk on bogus accounts.
  • The judge reprimanded Musk’s team for making “absurdly broad” requests for data.
  • The lawyers for Twitter had voiced fear that Musk would abuse the private information given to him.

A US judge ordered Twitter to hand over more information to Elon Musk on bogus accounts on Thursday, a crucial matter the billionaire is relying on to attempt and get his takeover offer revoked.

While giving the Tesla CEO’s team a chance to support its claim that Musk was deceived, Judge Kathaleen McCormick reprimanded them for making “absurdly broad” requests for “trillions upon trillions of data points.”

The judge ordered Twitter to turn over data on 9,000 accounts that the company audited by the end of 2021, which makes it possible for Musk to utilize the data in his attempt to renegotiate the $44 billion transaction.

Without going into further detail, McCormick stated in her four-page decision that “some additional data from the plaintiff (Twitter) is required.”

Musk claimed that Twitter was lying about the amount of fictitious or spam accounts, which prompted vehement denials and a lawsuit from the social media company that resulted in a trial that has been scheduled for mid-October.

In a hearing on Wednesday, Musk’s attorneys fought hard to get the company to release a ton of documents while capitalizing on a recently exposed Twitter whistleblower’s allegations of major problems at the company.

Bradley Wilson, a lawyer representing Twitter, argued in response that the firm had not misled anyone and that Musk wanted a second chance to ask the questions he should have before making his unsolicited acquisition approach earlier this year.

The firm objected to sharing several data types because it would breach users’ legal rights to privacy, according to its counsel Wilson.

Twitter’s lawyers contend that even if Musk’s experts reach a different conclusion on the volume of spam accounts at the company, that would not constitute a material breach that would allow him to violate the buyout agreement.

In his complaint to US authorities, whistleblower Peiter Zatko claims that Twitter has misrepresented account numbers because “exact measurements would undermine the company’s valuation if they ever became public.”

It wasn’t immediately obvious whether the lawsuit and Musk’s lawyers’ use of it will materially change how the matter is handled.

The lawyers for Twitter had voiced fear that Musk would abuse the private information they gave him.

The billionaire’s staff “have agreed to treat this data as highly confidential,” the court stated.
