- In 2024, there will be a total of 11 public holidays, starting with Kashmir Day on February 5th.
- The government has allocated three bank holidays and 22 optional holidays for the upcoming year.
The Cabinet Division has released a comprehensive list of public and optional holidays scheduled to be observed nationwide in 2024.
As per the official notice released on Wednesday, a total of 11 public holidays are slated for 2024, with Kashmir Day on February 5th being the first one.

On the specified dates, banks, DFIs, and MFBs will be considered as bank holidays, meaning they will be closed to the public but will remain open for their employees.

The government has designated three bank holidays and 22 optional holidays for the upcoming year. For Muslim festivals or occasions, the holiday dates depend on expected dates and are contingent on the sighting of the moon. A separate notification from the Cabinet Division will be issued when necessary.
