LAHORE: The Punjab government, led by Secretary of Transport Ahmed Javaid Qazi, conducted a pivotal meeting at the transport secretariat. The highlight of the gathering was the official launch of electric rickshaws, a collaborative effort between the Transport Department and a local private company.
Secretary Ahmed Javaid Qazi, accompanied by experts, oversaw a comprehensive examination following the successful operation of the electric rickshaws. During the event, Secretary Qazi emphasized the substantial impact these electric vehicles would have on reducing both air and noise pollution in the region.
With the introduction of these electric rickshaws, drivers can now cover up to 150 kilometers on a single charge, offering a convenient and eco-friendly alternative, particularly in the face of rising fuel prices.
This initiative aligns with the government’s commitment to fostering sustainable practices and promoting cleaner modes of transportation.
