Lahore: In a revolutionary step, Lahore’s Chief Traffic Officer, Amara Athar, has introduced a user-friendly online service allowing citizens to renew their learner permits from the comfort of their homes.
This online extension complements the existing Online Fresher Learner Permit facility, with plans to expand services to include license renewal, duplicate requests, and international licenses shortly.
These efforts aim to provide citizens with a comprehensive and hassle-free experience while promoting efficiency.
CTO Amara Athar highlighted the positive impact of online services, noting a remarkable 90% reduction in rush at traditional service centers. This shift to digital platforms aligns with the broader goal of streamlining administrative processes.
The surge in driving license issuance is evident, with over 200,000 citizens in Punjab receiving licenses, representing a substantial 25-fold increase from the previous year.
On the last day alone, 123,202 citizens, including those from Lahore, opted for online services to obtain licenses, showcasing the success of the traffic police licensing system.
This move towards online licensing services signifies a significant advancement in citizen facilitation, adapting to the evolving landscape of administrative convenience.
