ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet Division on Wednesday released the notification detailing the public and optional holidays scheduled for the upcoming year 2024 in Pakistan.
The 2024 public holiday calendar comprises a total of 11 days, each commemorating significant occasions in the country.

Prominent dates on the holiday calendar include Kashmir Day on February 5, Pakistan Day on March 23, and Independence Day on August 14. Additionally, religious observances encompass Eid-ul-Fitr on April 10, 11, and 12, Eid-ul-Azha on June 17, 18, and 19, and Ashura (9th and 10th Muharram) on July 16 and 17.
It’s important to note that for Muslim festivals, the holiday dates are provisional and subject to change based on the appearance of the moon. The Cabinet Division will issue a separate notification regarding these dates.

Furthermore, certain days will be designated as Bank Holidays, during which banks, DFLs (Development Finance Institutions), and MFBs (Microfinance Banks) will be closed to the public while remaining open for their employees.
