Imran Khan, Asad Umar acquitted in May 25 vandalism case

ISLAMABAD: A district and session court has cleared Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and former federal minister Asad Umar in a case involving alleged vandalism during the party’s extended march on May 25.

The case, registered at Koral police station, was heard by Civil Judge Naveed Khan.

Imran Khan and the former federal minister were acquitted by the court, while the case against other accused individuals has been adjourned until February 24.

It is noteworthy that several PTI leaders, including former Prime Minister Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and former ministers Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry, among others, were implicated in various FIRs related to the Azadi March by the police.
