KARACHI: The judicial magistrate East on Friday remanded five suspects of RJ Mall fire incident, that claimed 11 lives, to police custody for five days, Bol News reported.
The court sought development report from the investigation officer on the next hearing. The court dismissed the petition of suspects’ lawyers seeking to discharge their clients from the case.
The lawyers said the suspects’ names should be removed from the case and they were ready to even submit bail bonds. He said the police should also be directed for further investigation.
The lawyer, Faizan said they were fully cooperating with police still they were arrested. He claimed the evidence were being tampered by the police. He also said the suspects were nominated under charges of advertently setting the mall on fire.
