CHITRAL: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari asserted on Wednesday that the downfall of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)-led coalition government can be attributed to “vengeful politics,” emphasizing that the former ruling parties were more focused on personal agendas than serving the public.
Speaking at a PPP workers convention in Chitral, the young leader expressed concern that the traditional approach of veteran politicians would exacerbate the nation’s challenges.
According to Bilawal, the failure to achieve the targets set by his party within the coalition government was a result of the desire for revenge by the former ruling parties upon gaining power.
As preparations for the upcoming elections on February 8 gain momentum, Bilawal has initiated his campaign, engaging in rallies and gatherings with PPP workers and supporters nationwide.

In his pursuit of success in the 2024 general polls, he is actively addressing and targeting his opponents, including leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Bilawal stressed that his election campaign is not built solely on promises and slogans but on the basis of his performance, citing his 16-month tenure as the country’s foreign minister.

He advocated for a transition in leadership, urging older politicians to step back from active politics and make room for the younger generation. While acknowledging the contributions of older politicians, Bilawal criticized their outdated political methods, holding them responsible for the damage caused to the country over the past 70 years.
Expressing his desire to witness a PPP member become the country’s prime minister, Bilawal stated that he values the governance of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa more than the prime minister’s office. He reiterated that the PPP’s manifesto encompasses solutions to the country’s issues, including inflation, and emphasized that the party has historically generated employment opportunities for the people.
Bilawal expressed concerns about the worsening state of affairs in Pakistan and pledged to fulfill his late mother Benazir Bhutto’s unfinished mission with the support of the people. In a bid to further strengthen the PPP’s presence, he announced plans to encourage his sister, Aseefa Bhutto-Zardari, to contest elections from the party’s seat in Chitral.
