Nation witnesses rule of law today: CM Punjab

The Punjab Chief Minister said that the facts should be brought before the NAB to remove the ambiguity on the issue of liquor license. The situation is clear, the nation saw lawlessness yesterday and respect of law today.

According to details, after the NAB appearance, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar in his statement said that he appeared before the NAB in person fulfilling the legal requirements, went to the NAB office without protocol in only one vehicle, presented his position before the NAB.

He said that in order to remove the ambiguity on the issue of license, the facts should be brought before the NAB. We believe in respect for the constitutional institutions. In the new Pakistan, no one is above the law.

Usman Bazdar further said that he has established the tradition of recognizing the supremacy of law by appearing in the NAB. He has also presented his position in the court and the special commission. Demonstrated, law-breaking elements exposed themselves, it is the duty of every citizen to abide by the law, the government is running affairs in Punjab according to legal regulations.

Earlier, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has summoned Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar today for illegally awarding a liquor license to a private hotel.

According to the details, the bureau said Buzdar acted against the law since only the Excise department’s director-general is authorized to issue liquor licences.
