Sindh govt denies appealing against SC’s military courts ruling

The Sindh government on Saturday denied filing any appeal against the Supreme Court’s ruling of declaring the trial of civilians in military courts ‘unconstitutional’.

A denial statement had been issued by the Sindh Chief Minister House, mentioning that no application has been filed to challenge the apex court’s October 23 judgment.

On November 16, a news regarding the interim Sindh government filing an intra-court appeal challenging the apex court’s October 23 judgment had grabbed attention.

The Sindh government has requested the Supreme Court to annul the decision.

In the petition, it is requested to restore the invalid provisions of the Army Act and the Official Secrets Act.

The Sindh government has also requested to suspend the decision of the Supreme Court on October 23 till the decision.

According to the request, the accused of attacks on military installations should be tried in military courts, the Supreme Court did not properly review the law and facts.
