FAISALABAD: Police on Tuesday arrested a suspect allegedly involved in rape and murder of a minor girl in Dijkot city of Faisalabad district, Bol News reported.

The resident of Kanjwani area, Munir strangulated seven years old Mehak to death after sexually abusing her one month ago. A police team led by SP Usman Saifi found the suspect after an effort of one month.

The suspect subjected Mehak Fatima to sexual abuse in bushes and strangulated her to death on October 10. Her dead body was found near the bushes on October 11.

The suspect returned to Kanjwani after her rape and murder.

Earlier, suspect Munir also raped five years old Aneeqa within limits of Garh police station on September 5. A case was lodged against him at Garh police station over raping the minor girl too.

The suspect had come to house of his fore-maternal family in Dijkot to escape from police.
