PESHAWAR: Justice (Retired) Arshad Hussain Shah has taken the oath as new Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
KP Governor Ghulam Ali, who had appointed Arshad Hussain Shah as the CM after the consultation with former provincial chief minister and opposition leader of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, took the oath from Mr Shah as the caretaker chief minister.
Earlier, it was reported that Mahmood Khan had suggested the name of Justice Retired Arshad Hussain for the post of Interim KP CM. It was hoped that the former opposition leader would agree on this name, he said.
Earlier, the KP governor had sent a letter to the Advocate General, former Leader of the House, and Leader of the Opposition under the constitutional authority.
After mutual consultation, the new caretaker chief minister of the province will be elected within three days.
However, in case of not agreeing on a single name, the decision will be entrusted to the parliamentary committee.
